Irrfans The Man Of The Moment
The talented actor enters the big league as his Jurassic World creates box-office history
Jurassic World, which stars Irrfan Khan, Chris Patt and Bryce Dallas Howard is breaking records worldwide.
The film opened to an estimated $524.4 million at the global box-office, thus becoming the first film to ever cross $500 million in one weekend ahead of previous record-holder Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 ($483.2 million). $524.4 million! That’s over Rs. 3000 crore, guys! Yeah, we can understand if your jaw just hit the floor.
Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige has called it “The new opening weekend king.”
But you know, whos got us most excited? Irrfan! He plays Simon Masrani, CEO of Masrani Corporation and owner of Jurassic World Park.
The actor, at one time, did not even have money to watch Jurassic Park. And today, he is a part of the fourth instalment of the series. Isnt that amazing
Irrfan has slowly but surely made his place be it in Bollywood or Hollywood.
The actor, who was often overlooked by the Indian audience, got his due with Paan Singh Tomar. He deservedly won the National Award for his outstanding act.
It took spirited performances like Maqbool, Life In A Metro and Haider for him to carve his own niche. Irrfans The LunchBox is the only Indian movie to have ever won a Toronto Film Critics Association Award and was even nominated for the BAFTA. And with his last Bollywood outing, Piku, he has even managed to make inroads into mainstream films.
On international shores too, the talented actor has been part of big movies like The Namesake, New York I Love You, The Amazing Spider-Man and Life Of Pi among others.
Now, with Jurassic World, Irrfan clearly has entered the big league. And were happy for him ‘coz if anyone deserves it, its him.
